Where To Put The Videos In Your Website
video is the single best way to make a deeper connection with your website visitors.
So they can get to know like and trust you before they ever even meet you.
And that means they’ll be that much more excited to work with you but you know you may be confused about what kinds of videos are going to do the most good and where these videos should go on your website.
so I’m gonna break it all down and eliminate that confusion so you can start building trust on your website like you never have before.
Today in this article we are going to read about video specifically marketing videos that you can quickly produce and then put up on your website in strategic places to make your message more interesting and understandable and persuasive.
most people on your website are only skimming around they’re not reading.
Those large chunks of text and since people are three to four times more likely to watch a video over reading about the same topic there’s a real reason you’d want to do this.
So let’s get right to it starting with a homepage sales video the purpose of this video.
Is basically to reinstate the information that should already be on your homepage.
But it’s in video form so most small businesses go about this wrong and talk way too much about themselves as a company.
So here’s a really simple template you can use.
it’s going to be the most compelling
First, you want to grab attention by stating the problem that you know.
If you’re an accountant it might be if your clients are never ready by tax time.
Or if you’re a dentist it might be your patients are putting it off because they’re nervous.
After that you want to bring up a few specifics of what that problem can feel like or how it can get in the way of their life.
Now, this isn’t to be a fear monger it’s really just to show that you get it you understand them which is going make them trust you more then you bring up your solution.
And what makes it unique preferably with three solid benefits of working with you then you either cut to a customer testimonial or talk about a case study of something you helped throug.
That problem then ends the video by giving them a clear call-to-action which is usually going to be to click a button to schedule a consultation or appointment or to call you.
And if you’re nervous to be on camera here’s the thing it doesn’t need to be you on camera the whole time.
I actually recommend adding lots of b-roll footage of you helping customers or people enjoying their life after they’ve worked with you.
But you or someone from your company really should be on camera at least to start and end of the video.
that’s the part that’s really gonna build that you know I know you factor.
So where does this super valuable video go on your website?
So a few places I recommend the home page really near the top of the page and it can either go in the hero section at the very top right above your headline or in this section just below it.
It also helps to add a thumbnail to it that really entices people to click on it.
Next, we have a very important kind of video or series of videos really which are customer testimonials.
So including written testimonials on your site are nice but nothing compares to being able to see and hear a satisfied customer tell their story in their own words.
It’s just much more authentic and more tangible than text alone.
So you would obviously want to put these videos and I recommend getting at least one of them.
So you’re going to put them right at the top of the testimonials page on your site.
Of course but also you’re going to want to put one or two on your home page.
So after the hero section and the problem solution section on your home page and then the benefits of working with you, this is usually where I like to put those testimonials.
But here’s a trick I learned over the years put the video on the left and call up the best little snippet from it and put it as a headline off to the side then finish it out with their name and a 5-star rating.
To go with it you know all this together makes for a very persuasive testimonial that’s because even if they don’t watch the video they’re still going to see the best part of the quote and they’ll just assume that that’s in the video and then it’s legitimate.
Next we have maybe the simplest kind of video you can make and that’s the FAQ videos
so here’s the thing your prospects definitely have questions when they come to your website.
so by making these quick little bite-sized videos that are answering the most common ones you’re putting in some serious face time with them without too much effort on your part.
Just pull your smartphone and answer each of the FAQ s that are already on your site.
Or you know maybe you’re starting from scratch so if that’s the case then just think of what you get asked all the time and then shoot don’t try to be overly scripted.
It’s okay to fumble a few times and cut those parts out the point is you want to seem authentic and real that is what’s going to get people to like and trust you.
So like the other videos we talked about these are also gonna go in a few places first on your FAQ page obviously.
so just give each video a headline which would be the question and then put the video right underneath it.
Then I want you to think of the top three to six questions that are going to overcome the most objections and then make a section for those on your home page down toward the bottom.
Then if you have a question and answer to go with it that’s relevant to a certain service put it on that service page or if it’s about pricing put it on your pricing page.
You know it’s really just about thinking where you can strategically sprinkle these little videos on any page that makes the most sense to put these individual answers on and don’t worry about adding the same video to more than one-page.
people probably won’t visit all your pages anyway and they’re really not likely to notice.
Next are content marketing videos
So the point here is just to give your potential clients a quick take away or a quick win that they can use for themselves.
what this does is it establishes you as an expert in their eyes and these are gold especially when they can watch three or more of them.
they’re really going to feel like they know you after they watch a couple and the most natural place for these videos is in a blog section.
I actually like to name more like tips and advice it just makes it more valuable than just calling it a blog.
so if you make these types of videos you’ll want to upload them to YouTube for extra discoverability and for extra Co points then embed each one on its own blog post with a written text version underneath it.
this is gonna help people find it in those google searches which is gonna expand your potential reach and again I also like to put a few the best ones on the home page down toward the bottom.
so let’s say they get to your site and they aren’t really ready to buy yet they may be ready to at least watch one of your free videos.
and now they’re much more likely to remember your business and you.
when it’s time to make that decision the bottom line is video can help your business more than any other form of content out there.
